We began with the first Kickoff Seminar at the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta, featuring County Board of Commissioners Chair Wesley Corbitt sharing the county government's perspective on growth. The seminar also included Monty Veasey, President & CEO, Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals, Brandt Herndon, CEO of the Effingham Co. Industrial Development Authority, with an update on Hyundai Megasite Project and Jan Southern, President of J. Del Sur Marketing, speaking on community branding. Speaker Burns joined us for the reception following the Kickoff Seminar. The Kickoff Seminar and Reception were sponsored by Carlson & Co. and Oglethorpe Power.

Billy Hickman joined us the following morning for a light breakfast at the Capitol, along with several of their colleagues in the legislature. Chamber Ambassadors made visits to legislative offices while others observed the House of Representatives and Senate in session.
