    Event Description:

    Effingham Day at the Capitol will begin Sunday, January 29 through Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Residents of Effingham will gather in Atlanta to advocate for our community. Here are the latest details on our plans.

    • We have limited gallery seats reserved to observe the House of Representatives on Monday. Inquire about them at the Light Breakfast at the Capitol Monday morning.
    • We plan to take a group photo on the Capitol steps on Monday at 9:45am.
    • The GDOT Meeting on Monday will be at 1pm, with transportation from the Capitol beginning at 12:30pm.
    • Jan Southern, President of J. Del Sur Marketing and Publisher of Effingham Magazine present a talk on Community Branding at the Kickoff Seminar on Sunday afternoon. 
    • The chamber's room block at the Ritz-Carlton has filled.

    Tuesday, January 31
    • 8:00am: Bus shuttle begins to the James H. “Sloppy” Floyd Building

      We encourage you to check out of your room before taking the bus shuttle or to make arrangements with the hotel front desk to hold your luggage until you return from the Floyd Building. If you prefer to take your own vehicle to the Floyd Building, parking is limited near the Capitol and Floyd Building. There is a parking fee.
    • 8:30-10:30am: Breakfast Buffet and Presentations    “Sloppy” Floyd Building, Empire Room

      Effingham Day at the Capital continues with a buffet breakfast at the Floyd Building and to hear from state leaders. The breakfast should adjourn by 10:30am and everyone can be on the road back to Effingham or you can schedule other meetings. The breakfast is open to all Effingham Day registrants and invited guests.
    • 11:00am    Transportation back to Ritz-Carlton
