2025 Annual Meeting of the Members & Awards Reception

Nearly 200 business and community leaders came together at Stillwell Pines on Thursday, June 12, for the Effingham County Chamber’s 2025 Annual Meeting — a sold-out evening focused on progress, partnerships, and the people driving both.

The open-air setting, complete with a photo-worthy footbridge by Marchese Construction and landscaping from Coastal Greenery, offered a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Guests enjoyed food stations, networking, and plenty of time to connect — reflecting the Chamber’s continued focus on building a stronger, more connected business community.

The evening included a look back at the past year’s growth and accomplishments, along with remarks from Chamber President & CEO Susan Kraut, outgoing Board Chair Kim Iler, and incoming Chair Brett Bennett.

Two standout awards were presented:

• Carlson & Co. received the Small Business Legacy Award, recognizing their long-term impact on both the Chamber and the broader community.

• Reverend Lon Harden was honored with the 2025 Treutlen Award, the Chamber’s highest civic recognition, for more than 30 years of leadership and service across local faith, health, and civic organizations.

We also celebrated outgoing board members Toni Hardegree and Troy Allen, recognized longtime staff member Becky Shea as she prepares to retire, and welcomed Amy Ambrose to the Chamber team.
