Data Center Community Information Session
Name: Data Center Community Information SessionDate: August 26, 2026Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM EDTWebsite: effinghamcounty.comEvent Description:Since Project Camellia was announced, our community has been asking thoughtful questions about artificial intelligence, data centers, infrastructure, water, energy, economic development and what this proposed investment could mean for Effingham County.
The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce believes one of its most important roles is bringing people together around issues that matter to our business community and our region. To help foster informed conversations, the Chamber is convening two Data Center Community Information Sessions on Wednesday, August 26.
Designed for both business leaders and the broader community, these sessions will bring together recognized subject-matter experts, local leaders and other invited participants to discuss the topics generating the greatest interest and answer questions within their respective areas of expertise.
Rather than lengthy presentations, participants will provide brief introductory remarks before engaging in a moderated discussion driven primarily by audience questions. The goal is to create an open, respectful environment where attendees can hear from knowledgeable professionals, gain broader context surrounding large-scale AI data center development, and better understand the issues being discussed within our community.
Topics are expected to include artificial intelligence and modern data centers, energy and electrical infrastructure, water and wastewater systems, community and economic development, local government processes, and other questions submitted by attendees.
Two sessions will be offered to accommodate different schedules:
