    Ambassadors
    Purpose: Ambassadors are volunteers who assist in growing the chamber's membership through recruitment efforts, welcome our chamber’s newest members, assist in retaining our current members, and encourage meaningful participation and involvement in chamber programs. These individuals, while representing their own business, also represent, assist, and promote the Effingham Chamber.

    Committee Meets: First Thursday of each month, 8:30am.

    Government Affairs Committee
    Purpose: By engaging with local and state government, the chamber provides the business community a direct link to the people and initiatives shaping our region. This committee’s efforts ensure our membership can remain engaged on issues that have a direct impact to their business.

    Committee Chair: Kimberly Iler
    Committee Meets: Second Thursday of each month, 8:30am.

    Member Relations Committee
    Purpose: The Member Relations Committee serves as a forum to provide essential input and advisement to the content the chamber provides for various programs. The make-up of the committee offers a variety of experiences and opinions from different sectors of business and industry. The strength, knowledge, and expertise of the members will serve to advance the chamber’s relevance to the business community.

    Special Events Committee
    Purpose: The committee oversees the planning, promotion and execution of the chamber’s signature events, as well as post event follow-up. The committee coordinates with chamber staff and volunteers to fulfill the chamber’s goals by ensuring that: attendees’ experience is safe and enjoyable; the event reflects positively on the chamber, its sponsors, the hosts and Effingham County; and that sponsors receive strong value and benefit from their investment.

    The chamber’s signature events include:

    • Night in Effingham, including the Taste of Effingham food sampling event, in early April
    • The Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet, in June.

    Workforce Development Committee
    Purpose:
    The committee’s focus is to help the county attract, develop and maintain a sustainable workforce so that we can assist industry and businesses in their efforts to provide world-class goods and services, and effectively prepare our workforce to meet the needs of those industries and businesses.

    Committee Chair: Jessica Hood
    Committee Meets: First Tuesday of each month, 9:00am.
