About the Effingham Chamber

Effingham County Chamber members represent a broad spectrum of business services, products and professions. Founded in 1986, the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce made a commitment to support its existing businesses and to attract new businesses to its thriving business climate. What began as a need to address individual concerns evolved into an ability to accomplish together what no one businesss owner could alone.

Today's Chamber consists of more than 320 members from virtually every business venture. Its 12-member Board of Directors represent small and big business interests alike, all with an eye on collective achievements that benefit Effingham businesses, local citizens and our quality of life. We stay connected with our community to know what's in the best interests of our county and we know that working together, great things can happen.

We invite you to become a part of our Chamber network. We are an organization that is created for the promotion of business interests in Effingham County. We also rely on the our committee volunteers and member participation to assist in completing our program of action. Becoming a Chamber member entitles you to participate in networking opportunities with key local business professionals, meet and learn from informative speakers and area business leaders to enhance your business or organization. Our mission is to advance business in Effingham County and to promote, protect and preserve our heritage, our quality of life and our environment in our quest for economic growth. Chamber Priorities

  • Enhance Effingham's “Entrepreneur Friendly” environment.
  • Implement an Action Plan that delivers meaningful assistance to Small Business Start-Ups.
  • Develop Creative Programming that enhances the growth of existing businesses.
  • Continue to serve as a Champion for Small Business by presenting the Legislative Priorities Package to appropriate elected officials.
  • Improve the appearance of Effingham’s Gateways to increase Community Curb Appeal and enhance Economic and Business Development efforts.
  • Implement a series of Networking and Special Events that bring expanded Opportunities to Chamber members. Feature new methodologies for exposure via the Chamber’s web site and printed publications.
