 Bringing People and Opportunity Together The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce is an association of over 500 business people and area leaders who are investing in our community's future. We like to say we are a group that is Bringing People and Opportunity Together. Our Chamber's mission is to assure an environment in which Effingham County businesses can grow and succeed. This means we are the folks in town doing everything we can to grow and expand the local economy. We're assisting and supporting the Effingham County Industrial Development Authority. We're developing an exciting new initiative for Small Busiinesses and Entrepreneurs. We're establishing a new marketing plan for Tourism by branding our community as an excellent day-trip desitination with Savannah. Your Chamber also serves as a business advocate, representing growing firms like yours at all levels of government. We band together to do those things we can't accomplish alone. We also serve as a community catalyst and are involved in area strategic planning. Issues like transportation, education, business and economic development, water and preserving our community's quality of life - are important to all of us. When you become involved in the Chamber you will be meeting some of the most successful business people in towy - other Chamber members. You can also make contacts with area executives, decision-makers, managers and successful entrepreneurs. Exposure for your Firm: Your Chamber serves as a front office for Effingham County. As such, we receive hundreds of inquiries for community and newcomer information. Members are invited to take advantage of our Membership Referral Service by giving us your latest information or company brochure for display in our lobby. (first come - first served basis) Membership Directory & Desk Reference - Our new directory will feature all our members with alphabetical and business classification listings. This publication will include a wellspring of community and newcomer information and will have a circulation of over 4,000. All members are also listed in our Web Site directory. Other Exposure Services - Your Chamber also provides coordination services for Ribbon Cuttings, Ground Breakings and Grand Openings.  The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce is in the "Small Business - Business". As such we offer a variety of services for new and growing enterprises. This year we will begin the Governor's entrepreneur Friendly Community initiative that focuses on activities and programs that help businesses grow and succeed. Here's what is being organized now:
Member-Only Referrals: Members have a leg up on their competition by having the advantage of our “Members Only” referral service. Our office receives numerous calls requesting information on local businesses and available services. It is our pleasure to refer Chamber members. Your Chamber also publishes a list of newcomers and people locating to the area. This list is available on a subscription basis to Chamber members. Insurance Discounts: Through your Chamber membership, your company will be eligible for a 5% reduction in major medical and other insurance program discounts through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia and Purchasing Alliance Solutions. Given the rising costs of healthcare, your membership virtually pays for itself through your savings! Premium Discounts: We can help you reduce your worker’s compensation premium by 7 1/2% by assisting you in becoming certified in Georgia's Drugs Don't Work Program.
