The troops of the 1/118^th FA, the local National Guard unit from Springfield, will be returning to Effingham from Afghanistan tomorrow, March 3rd.  The troops should get to the Rincon area around 9:30AM and they will continue down Hwy 21 to Springfield.  The troops will March from City Hall in Springfield down to the Administrative Complex around 10:00AM.  Once at the Administrative Complex a brief ceremony  will be held to honor the troops. 

We would like to encourage all businesses along the parade route to come out to the road to show your support for the troops as well as pass this information on to others who would be able to participate.  Please assist us in honoring our troops by displaying flags, ribbons and adding messages to message boards around the county.  

Thank you to all of our Veteran's and Active Duty Military.  Please help us honor all troops as we remember that Freedom isn't Free!  Thank each of you for what you do!
